Thank you for purchasing the Simple Protractor.
Its design is as it says 'Simple', but to save any confusion here is a explanation of its use.
Before you begin, bear in mind tracking force, arm height and also bias/antiskate may need altering. You would have set these via the old alignment and may be different once new alignment is done. The reason for this, the old alignment maybe compromised the stylus in the groove trying to achieve acceptable results.
1. Place Simple Protractor on platter.
2. Align raised part of Protractor with pivot point of tonearm. This can be tricky on some arms, but this part is vital for best results.
3. Carefully place stylus on point B grid. There is an arrow pointing toward point B, its the intersection of the two longer white lines.
Always raise the arm prior to making any adjustments, you do not want to damage the cartridge.
Adjust cartridge so tip sits directly on intersection and sides on cartridge and/or cantilever also lines up with other white lines.
Once aligned, be prepared to fine tune tracking force , arm height and antiskate.
